Trekking and Hiking
Mount Kenya and Kilimanjaro Treks + Technical Mountain Climbing

Kilimanjaro - at 5,895 metres it's the World's highest free-standing mountain. We offer a range of routes depending upon your fitness and experience. You will trek through a variety of terrains starting with forest and progressing into moorland, alpine desert before reaching the snow-covered equatorial Uhuru peak.
At 5,199 m (17,057 ft), Mount Kenya is a more technical climb and though not as well known in climbing circles as Kili, it's arguably more rewarding. The Chogoria and Sirimon routes take trekkers through a variety of terrain, from equatorial forest, bamboo, moorland and high alpine terrain. The Naro Moro route, though not as spectacular, offers a more direct route to Point Lenana and takes you through areas rich in wildlife and rare flora. Routes involving advanced ice-climbing and rock-climbing can also be arranged.
Technical Mountain Climbing - our guide is one of the most experienced mountaineers in Africa. Please contact us for more details.
Mount Elgon, Aberdares, Loita Hills and Chyulu Hills - walking/trekking can also be arranged on Mount Elgon or in the Loita or Chyulu Hills or even the Aberdares or Matthews Range. Please enquire for details. For details on walking safaris in the Masai Mara, Laikipia and so forth, click here.
Some detail about our Treks - Unlike many operators on Mount Kenya and Kili, we try and avoid the busy routes. Camping (as opposed to staying in often over-crowded huts and cabins) facilitates this - our camp sites tend to be remote and enable us to escape the crowds. We use high-quality tents and provide thick sleeping mats ensuring a good (and warm!) night's sleep. All our of treks are guided (you have the choice between a European guide or a local Kenya guide) and we provide porters who carry your rucksacks and all tentage and food, leaving you only your day pack. Meals are of a very high quality - each day you'll have a cooked breakfast, packed-lunch and 3 course evening meal. A typical evening meal consists of soup to start, main course ranging from steaks to spaghetti, and desert followed by tea, coffee or hot chocolate - we feel it's essential that you are well fed on the mountain! Our porters will also carry camp tables and chairs so you can eat in comfort (it is very important after a full days walking that you're not sat on the cold ground to eat your evening meal!)
We work with a number of the most experienced guides in Kenya and Tanzania. Trips can be tailored to suit your particular needs, whether you are tackling Mount Kenya or Kilimanjaro for the first time or are an experienced climber.
