East African Classic Safari Rally, 1st - 10th December 2004

East African Classic Safari Rally 2005

50 years after the first East African Safari Rally was established to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, competing crews and motor sport fans everywhere will celebrate the return of the East African Safari Rally.

Starting on the 1st of December 2005, the ‘World’s Greatest Classic Rally’ will trace its way once again through three East Africa counties as it did in 1953. The race will start in Kenya, travel into Uganda through Tanzania, ending once again in Kenya on the 10th of December. In keeping with it’s classical style, the East African Safari Rally entries will be limited to cars built before 1971.

Rally Packages

Extreme Safari can organise packages for Rally fans to watch the event described by rally legends Tommi Makinen, Juha Kankkunen and Carlos Sainz as the "toughest in the World" (and they did it in Works WRC cars not Classics!).

Flights can be organised from anywhere in Europe. You will follow the drivers around Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, staying in a combination of luxury tented camps, lodges and hotels, finishing up on the beautiful Diani Beach for the Final Leg and Closing Ceremony.  A professional safari guide and rally enthsiast will accompany you throughout, driving you from leg to leg in a Land Rover or Landcruiser (so no problems getting access to the difficult sections!).
