Camel Safari in Kenya
The experience: Viewing the wonders of a Kenyan safari is an experience in itself, but doing it on the back of a camel adds flavour to this novel honeymoon. Extreme Safari have tailor-made an exclusive and stylish honeymoon for couples who want to experience the bush without sacrificing the luxury of their first holiday together as husband and wife. Your five day adventure will start at Sabuk Lodge, Laikipia, in the wild Northern Frontier District of Kenya, guided by a trained and experienced Maasai guide. Camels are very tall and once you are on their back you will have a great view point for many of the wild animals that you would not see from normal height. Stop for occasional bushwalks and you will be shown the various flora and fauna by your knowledgeable guides, and watch the exquisite African sunsets atop a ridge while holding hands and sipping G&Ts. Each night, no luxury is spared as you are treated to a three course meal and a bottle of wine, while sitting around the campfire. After five days of ‘roughing’ it, head back to the lodge and your own private thatched rondavel (circular cottage) for a well deserved pampering.
The price: Three night camel safari from €1,612; five night camel safari from €2,350. Both include one night at the Sabuk Lodge. The price includes full board accommodation, drinks, domestic flights, transfers, conservation fees, and Flying Doctors emergency evacuation insurance. International flights will have to be organised separately.
The details: Contact Extreme Safari on T:0044 450 1223 or at E: info@extreme-safari.com W: www.extreme-safari.com. Sabuk is accessed by light aircraft and a private chartered flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi.
