Ten-to-Four Race for Charity
In Feb 2006 we will be taking a team of riders to Kenya to compete in the 10-to-4 and to raise money for Kenyan Charities. The 10 to 4 is a gruelling downhill mountain bike race which takes place on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya. It's open to everyone from serious amateurs and pros to local Kenyans competing on Black Mambas - the Kenyan version of a Flying Dutchman!
After the race we will be doing a mountain bike safari - one of the most exciting trips in Africa - crossing the great Laikipia Plains (cycling alongside zebras, giraffe and other plains game), tackling a technical descent of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, before finishing at Lake Baringo.
We'll be doing a short 4x4 safari in Lake Nakuru National Park (famous for its flocks of flamingos as well as Black and White Rhino and Leopard) before returning to Nairobi.
For those who have time we will spend a week on the magnificent Kenyan Coast - time for some well needed R+R and an opportunity to try kitesurfing, scuba-diving and big-game fishing.
A photographer will be riding with us to record the trip for UK + European MTB Magazines.
Each rider will cover their own costs (approx £1,200-£1,500 including flights) so that we can ensure all funds raised will go directly to the chosen charity. Scroll down for full details.
Places are limited to 15 riders - if you are interested in taking part, please email us.
