Kite/Windsurf Safari - Itinerary

What better way to spend New Year than experiencing a real African Safari followed by a weeks kite surfing and windsurfing on the Indian Ocean

Non-kitesurfers: No worries! With a stack of activities, from diving to golf, we’ll make sure your girlfriends, boyfriends and family don’t go nuts waiting for you to come off the water!

Cost:

£1,670 for 2 week trip including direct flights on BA, domestic flights and transfers, half-board accommodation, safaris.Or £1,350 for B+B accommodation at the Coast.(Itinerary can be varied to suit budget + taste !)

Itinerary:

17th Dec:
Depart London Heathrow Airport on British Airways (BA 065) at 2205. You will be collected from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and will be transferred to a 4 star Nairobi hotel. Optional free excursion to the Giraffe Centre and the well-reknowned Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary.


19th Dec:
After an early breakfast depart for Masai Mara. Arrival at Mara tented camp in time for lunch. The afternoon will be at leisure and at around 16:00 hours depart on an afternoon / evening game drive – expect to see lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, cheetah or even leopard. All safaris are in specially designed safari vehicles with pop-up roofs, to allow for unobstructed game viewing and photography. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

21st Dec:
Full day in Masai Mara with early morning and evening game drives. All meals and overnight at the camp.

22nd Dec:
After breakfast transfer to Naivasha, arriving in time for a late lunch. Afternoon at leisure to take advantage of the many facilities available. Optional extras include boat trips to see hippo and 100s of species of birds, game walk on Crescent Island, fishing, explore the hot springs and geysers of Hell’s Gate National Park or even a trek up the 2,777 metres of Mount Longonot, one of the many dormant volcanoes that skirt the Great Rift Valley.

23rd Dec:
After breakfast, morning at leisure, (lunch excluded today), transfers to Nairobi and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will board your flight to Mombasa. On arrival you will be transferred to Diani Beach on the Kenya coast – “one of the most spectacular beaches in the World” with its brilliant sandy beaches, and the tropical warmth of the Indian Ocean. Check into your hotel. Dinner and overnight.

24th Dec - 03 Jan:
Half board arrangements at your Diani Beach hotel. Diani is a dream for kitesurfers - the Kaskazi trade-wind blows side-shore F3-5 from late December through to March and with a wide uncrowded beach for launching, flat water on the inside and head-high waves on the reef it’s ideal for kitesurfers of every level. Just one thing – leave your wetsuit at home !

31st Dec:
New Year’s Eve at Nomad’s Beach Bar. Approx. £30 for food, unlimited drinks, bands and DJs until 10am when they serve breakfast to those still standing… Obligatory swim in the Indian Ocean as the sun rises!

03 Jan:
Breakfast. Transfer to Moi International Airport for flight to Nairobi to connect with your international flight to London. Depart JKIA 2300 hrs

04 Jan:
Arrive London Heathrow, Terminal 4, 0505

05 Jan:
Back to work !
