Kitesurf - Our IKO accredited kitesurf instructors can take teach you to kitesurf or, if you're a proficient kitesurfer, assist with improving your technique.
Paddle Surfing - the warm, sheltered waters of the lagoon at Diani are ideal for learning this exciting new sport. Stand-Up Paddlesurfing or "SUP", derived from the ancient Polynesians, is great fun and great exercise. Once you have mastered the technique we will teach you to catch your first waves. Conditions - Warm water, cross shore trade winds blowing F3-5 every day during . Wide uncrowded beaches, flat water on the inside, reef break on the outside. Ideal for all levels. Water temperature averages 27 degrees, with air temperature 30 degrees - bring a rash-vest to protect from the sun but leave your wetsuits at home!
Winds - The northerly Kaskazi tradewinds blow a reliable cross / cross-on shore wind from December to March (average 16-22 knots, port tack). The southerly Kuzi tradewinds in June, July, August and September blow between 18-22 knots sideshore from the right (starboard tack). At this time of year we experience larger swells on the reef but still benefit from flat-water conditions inside the reef.
Equipment - All windsurf and kitesurf gear is from Naish Hawaii and is regularly updated to ensure the highest quality standards for teaching and rentals.
Location - Located at The Sands at Nomad beach hotel on the pristine white beaches of Diani, 40 kms south of Mombasa, this palm tree lined setting is the perfect place to do your watersports or chill out. Next to the school is the onsite PADI diving centre, beach bar and restaurant which makes this an extremely social place to be. We also have centres at Leopard Beach Hotel, Leisure Lodge, Boabab Resort and Galu Beach.
