Not content with spending 2 weeks sitting on a beach, more and more couples are looking for a unique and exciting way to spend their honeymoon.
Extreme Safari specialises in tailor-made honeymoons, designed around your particular budget and requirements.
The key element of any Extreme-Safari honeymoon is the safari itself. We will whisk you off into the wilderness in a light aircraft. You will stay in a luxurious tented camp in East Africa's best National Parks. The camps we select for our honeymoons are small and intimate, rarely having more than 6-8 luxury tents. Quality of service is high and the catering is exceptional: freshly baked bread, fresh fruits, organic meat and vegetables. Evening meals are often taken under the African stars by candle-light. All tents have their own private verandahs, double or king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms, some with marble basins and Victorian bath-tubs.
At most of our camps guided bush-walks, sundowners, bush breakfasts, game drives in specially converted 4x4 safari vehicles, drinks* and meals are included. This means that you don't have to worry about digging into your pocket to pay for a drink at the bar. (*Drinks included are soft drinks, beer, wine and house spirits. Premium spirits, cellar wines and champagne are extra.)
Additional options include a spectacular early morning balloon-trip over the Masai Mara followed by a champagne breakfast.
"Active" safari options include horse and camel back safaris, walking safaris, Mount Kenya or Kilimanjaro treks, kitesurfing and scuba-diving.
To round-off the honeymoon we can fly you to Mombasa, Lamu or Zanzibar. Options include luxury safari camps, intimate guest houses and even private islands! For those not content to lie in a hammock drinking cocktails we can arrange a host of activities, from kitesurfing to scuba-diving, fishing and snorkelling.
Costs - active honeymoons start at £1,500 per person, although most couples spend around £3,000 per person for a 10 day - 2 week trip. Whilst every honeymoon is different, the itinerary will typically include all accommodation, domestic flights and transfers, most activities, meals and drinks on safari, and so forth. It does not include international flights or insurance. Please email us to talk through the options and give you an estimate.
