Gorilla Safari - Uganda itinerary

  

Itinerary:

Day 01

Meet and greet at your accommodation in Kampala : Depart for Bwindi at 0700hrs - 9 hrs : Lunch en route : Dinner and overnight

Day 02

Breakfast : Transfer to staging area : Briefing by Head Ranger : Begin gorilla tracking, escorted by rangers : Late Lunch : Dinner and overnight

Day 03

Breakfast : Return transfer to Kampala - 9 hrs : Lunch en route : END OF TOUR

Accommodation:

Buhoma Homestead: 

A simple country inn with several self contained rooms and non-self contained rooms. The rooms have hot and cold running water, showers, flushing toilets and solar powered lighting.

Bwindi Tented Camp:

Large walk in tents with two twin-size beds. Has hot and cold bush showers.  The toilets are sitdown manual sand cisterns as opposed to flushing toilets. Solar lighting is used throughout.

Gorilla Forest Camp:

A 5 star property. The large luxurious tents have two queen size beds, with bath tubs, showers, hot and cold running water, flush toilets and wooden decks  overlooking the forest. 240 volt electricity is supplied for lighting and recharging of videos, laptops and telephones.

US$ 856 per person, twin sharing, for a minimum of 02 persons

US$ 770 per person, twin sharing, for a minimum of 03 persons

US$ 728 per person, twin sharing, for a minimum of 04 persons

US$ 86 : Single room Supplement

To upgrade to Bwindi Tented Camp, please add US$ 80 per person. The Single Room Supplement is US$ 86

To upgrade to Gorilla Forest Camp, please add US$ 321 per person. The Single Room Supplement is US$ 161.

Price includes:

Ground Transportation  : All park fees : All activities, meals and accommodation mentioned in the itinerary;

One gorilla Permit per person

Excludes:

Flights, All beverages : Any activity, meal or accommodation NOT mentioned in the itinerary;

Tips, souvenirs and items of a personal nature

Specific Conditions:

Please note that gorilla tracking is a strenuous activity and one should be physically fit to enjoy this tour. Minimum tracking age is 15 years.

Anyone with signs of communicable diseases will NOT be allowed to trek .While possession of a gorilla permit is a guarantee of trekking and sighting the gorillas, the quality of the gorilla trekking cannot be guaranteed.

Maximum time allowed with the gorillas will NOT exceed ONE hour.

What to Bring:

We strongly recommend the following:

Rain poncho (lightweight), long-sleeved shirt, waterproof trousers, sturdy hiking boots, leather gardening -type gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent and any necessary medications must be brought by yourselves either from your home town or from Kampala/Nairobi. Still Cameras and Camcorders are allowed, but bring batteries and film with you.

On confirmation, please advise the following details:

Full names as they appear in your passports;

Dates of Birth;

Nationality;

Passport numbers.

Please understand that gorilla permits are booked on a "first come first served" CASH basis and therefore can be snapped up by anybody. Please do make a decision as soon as you can in order to avoid disappointment.
