Galu Sea Lodge consists of 6 two story, beachfront cottages, situated within beautiful, lush gardens which run down to the wide, sandy beach. There is an excellent, well-maintained swimming pool within the front gardens and next to the beach.
Galu Beach is arguably the most beautiful beach in Kenya – kilometres of white sand with no coral – great for long walks, swimming and watersports. Unlike the neighbouring Diani Beach, there is very little development on Galu and the atmosphere is more tranquil (with the added advantage of no beach boys).
Cottage Layout: Each cottage has the same layout and comes fully furnished.
Downstairs:
- there is a large sitting room with couch, chairs and a coffee table;- a dining room with a big dining table (seats up to 10 people) - fully equipped kitchen (with gas cooker, fridge, crockery & cutlery) - guest toilet - large front patio overlooking the gardens, the beach & ocean Upstairs: - 3 double bedrooms each with twin beds (bedding & mosquito nets provided) - 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) with shower & hot water - large front balcony overlooking the gardens, the beach & ocean Shops: Apart from the main Diani Beach shopping centre, there is a supermarket about 1 km away– which is open Mon-Sat 9am-6pm. Outside the supermarket there are fruit & vegetable stalls. The local fishermen and bicycle vendors call into the compound most days and will come right to your back door. You can buy fresh fish, fruits and some vegetables from them.
Security: The front gate is manned
day & night to let you in and out. At night there
are additional guards – one in the front area near the beach and another in the
middle of the compound to ensure you feel secure. There is also
an alarm switch installed in the front bedroom of each house; it is connected
directly to the mobile response, Group 4 Security company.
Parking: There is ample (shaded)
parking for cars.
