LION HILL LODGE LAKE NAKURU

The Sarova Lion Hill Lodge is located in the heart of the Great African Rift Valley, on the shores of Lake Nakuru, one of East Africa's most famous soda lakes. The lodge setting, nestled into a hill overlooking the lake, offers a unique vantage point. 

Lake Nakuru is home to 56 different species of mammals including Leopard, Lion, Buffalo and the greatly endangered White Rhino. It also boast in excess of 450 bird species including Greater and Lesser Flamingos. Nowhere else will you get a photo of a rhino backed by a mirage of soft pink flamingos sifting food from the shimmering soda lake. It's a spectacle to behold!

Sarova Lion Hill Lodge is 160kms from Nairobi approximately a two hours drive or 30 minutes by air followed by a 30 minute transfer to lodge.  

ACCOMMODATION

There are 64 superbly appointed chalets each with their own separate lounge and secluded veranda with views over the lake and the distant hills. They offer a private toilet and shower, mosquito nets and electricity.

Flamingo Restaurant serves a buffet breakfast and lunch while dinner is table d'hote. Rift Valley Bar on the ground floor overlooks the lake, and is open from 7.00 am. to 11.00 pm every day. The lodge restaurant and bar open onto a large viewing deck with panoramic views.

ACTIVITIES

The lodge also has a swimming pool, sauna, laundry service, and curio and gift shop.

Lake Nakuru Park is teeming with wildlife and Sarova Lion Hill Lodge is ideally located within the heart of the park to maximise your game viewing experience. Game drives take place at various times a day (morning and afternoon) while sundowners on Baboon Cliff are the perfect way day to end the day.

A major feature of this park is the bird life, particularly the thousands of flamingos. A rhino sanctuary also provides the opportunity to see the greatly endangered black rhino.
