About Us

Extreme-Safari grew out of a desire to design for our clients precisely the type of holidays and events we like to do ourselves!

(the directors, hard at work, Diani Beach, Dec 2003)

We grew up in the adventure playground that is East Africa, going on safari in the Masai Mara and exploring the rivers and coastline of East Africa.
People know of Kenya as a great destination for safaris but what few realise is there's so much more to do - from climbing Kilimanjaro to scuba-diving, mountain biking, horseriding, fishing, or just chilling out on a brilliant sandy beach.

Our roots lie in watersports, particularly windsurfing, and more recently, the exhilarating sport of kitesurfing. We operate 3 windsurf/kitesurf schools at Diani Beach, on the South Coast of Kenya.  We're passionate about everything we do - be it mountain biking, mountain climbing, fishing or safaris - and and this infectious passion is reflected in the way we run our business.

Extreme Safari is the only company in Europe which specialises in sports and adventure holidays in Kenya.  We have an unrivalled knowledge of the extreme sports landscape in Kenya and our network of suppliers includes the best in their relative fields - our climbing guides drew the official map of Mount Kenya, and our PADI dive-school in Diani is - without question - the best in the business!

We work closely with our affiliated travel agency in Nairobi, Going Places, to make sure that every trip fits together seamlessly, arranging international and domestic flights, to transfers, accommodation and safaris. Their longstanding reputation in the region give us access to a strong network of airlines, lodges and hotels to ensure that you stay in the best places at the best prices.  Going Places are members of IATA, KATO (Kenya Association of Tour Operators) and KATA (Kenya Association of Travel Agents).

Event Management and Expeditions

Extreme Safari has extensive experience of event management and expedition leading.  With a strong management team, organisational flair, extensive knowledge of East Africa, unrivalled local network, unlimited creativity and masses of energy we have the complete skills-set necessary to conceive, plan and deliver exciting and innovative events.  We are always open to new challenges - rafting the length of the Nile or running skiing expeditions up Mount Kilimanjaro - no expedition is too ambitious.  We are experienced in generating PR and marketing "hype" for our events, both off-line and on-line - essential in the promotion of any event, commercial or charitable.  Like our holidays, our events and expeditions are built from scratch - we start with a blank sheet of paper and work closely with our clients to build experiences which match their intended budget, goals and ideals.

About the Colobus Trust

The Colobus Trust is a conservation organisation designed to promote the conservation, preservation and protection of primates like the rare Angolan Colobus monkey (Colobus angolensis palliatus) and its coastal forest habitat in southern Kenya. The Trust was established in 1997 in response to an outcry from local residents about the high number of deaths of the Colobus in the Diani area. Now, six years later, the Trust has numerous projects concerning the wildlife and the citizens of Kenya, including animal welfare, biological/ecological research, community development and education, forest protection and enrichment and eco-tourism awareness programmes.  For more information go to: www.colobustrust.org
