The Maldives
Surfing and Diving holidays for couples, small groups and honeymooners

New to our program in 2008, Extreme Safari now offer a hand-picked selection of honeymoons and luxury-adventure getaways in the Maldives.
The Maldives are a string of 1,190 coral islands located south of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean. The islands are renowned for their palm-fringed beaches, turquoise lagoons and amazing tropical fish. The Maldives are widely regarded as offering some of the best scuba-diving in the world but few realise that the islands also offer world class surfing, longboarding and paddle-boarding. Discovered relatively late as a surfing destination, the Maldives now boasts an ASP World Tour Event (held at Pasta Point every year in June) and attracts recreational surfers from around the globe.
The two properties and our Surf/Dive Charter Boat have been selected after extensive in-country research by our managing director and offer what we feel is the best accommodation, service, surfing and diving available in the Maldives archipelago.
Ocean Dancer luxury dive/surf Charter

The Ocean Dancer is a 110 foot luxury motor-yatch offering 7 day dive/surf live-aboards for couples or groups of up to 14 guests. This is a luxury charter and arguably the best surf/dive live-aboard in the Maldives.

Soneva Gili (Six Star Resort)

Four Seasons Kuda Huraa (Five Star Resort)

The Four Seasons occupies its own private island in the North Male Atoll. Service is excellent and you'll find that within a few days all the staff great you by name. You have a choice between Beach Bungalows (some with their own private plunge-pools) and Over-Water Suites built on stilts overlooking the lagoon. Room decor is essentially Maldivian but finished to a very high standard with all of the rooms and suites rebuilt following the disaster of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.

Surfing - the Four Seasons is just a short boat-ride away from some of the best breaks in the Maldives - Sultans, Honky's, Chickens, Cokes and Ninjas to name a few. A Tropicsurf guide is based full-time at the resort and takes surfers to the breaks in the Dhoni. Which break you surf depends upon the prevailing swell and wind direction and the level of the group. Beginners and intermediates are also catered for with lessons available. Pre-booking is recommended for lessons and dhoni-trips.
The Four Seasons also boasts a watersports centre with a good range of modern windsurf equipment (JP boards and Neil Pryde sails) and qualfied instructors (qualified under the German Windsurf Federation (DWSV) rules); waterskiing and wakeboarding, and PADI licenced dive school.
